Silca Nastro Piloti is a 1.85mm-thick tape for aggressive riding and racing which provides cushioning equivalent to 2.5mm thick tapes of existing technology. The Asymmetric Piloti Texture inspired by F1 tire technology allows the tape to be wrapped in either a moderate-texture or high-texture format depending on preference. Inspired by advancements in running shoe foam and F1 tires as well as our own research into rolling efficiency, impedance, and damping, we realized that materials technology could allow for a significant improvement in bar tape. Using a laminate of SILCAthane, SILCAlon and 3M Visco-elastic adhesive instead of a single-foam extrusion, the tape can be optimized across a range of desired features. The resulting tape has a softer, more comfortable feel, higher wet and dry grip, better vibration isolation, and 3-5x the durability of existing tape materials. The 711 features perfect grip ergonomics for long-distance routes and use in racing XC style mtb. A well thought-out, highly ergonomic shape offers an especially secure grip and maximum comfort, while a full locking inner sleeve allows for infinite adjustment, allowing the rider to get that "just right" feel. The scope of delivery includes one set of grips. Strategic clamp placement increases the shock absorption and comfort on the outside of the hand. In addition, the outside surface area was increased using every trick in the book, making the new 711 Tech and Trail 2.0 as comfortable as a wing grip despite not being one. As round as necessary and as flat as possible: with the 711 grip, the outer contact surface is pressed flat, thus reducing the pressure peaks many times over.
